Elevated Chakras return on the wings of swans

Psychedelia variants Chakras play Cyprus Avenue on December 7.
FOLLOWING the release of their critically acclaimed debut album 'Build Me A Swan' this year, The Chakras will be playing a Cork date at Cyprus Avenue on Wednesday, December 7.
Their sound has been called 'epic, swirling psychedelia that recalls Richard Ashcroft's gang at their peak', with elements of the shoegazing neo-psychedelia of My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus And Mary Chain's heady fuzz heavily informing their unique brand of trippy anthems.
The Dublin-born band have been based in London for the past year, having begun their journey two years ago, when they supported Ian Brown for a Dublin gig. Brown gave the Irish band his stamp of approval, and the rest is history.
The group's sound really came to fruition when The Chakras began work with producer/mixer Chris Potter (Urban Hymns) in 2010, on the single 'Build Me A Swan' which was released on limited 7".
The Chakras put their trust in Potter's extensive experience and this partnership has given the band the freedom to really explore their influences while also making the record their own.
Produced by Jaz Rogers (Annie Lennox, Brand New Heavies/bryn Christopher) and mixed by Potter, 'Build Me A Swan' has provided an astounding debut for the Chakras.
The Chakras is returning to Ireland for a series of shows, so if you want to catch them they will be playing Dolan's Limerick, December 4 ; Roisin Dubh, Galway, December 5 ; Whelan's, Dublin, December 6 as well as Cyprus Avenue on December 7.
