MIG Live presents Irish rock legends The Saw Doctors live at the Savoy Theatre for a very special show on Friday, September 24. Formed in 1986 in Tuam by Leo Moran, Davy Carton and local vocalist Mary O'Connor, The Saw Doctors have achieved 18 top-thirty singles in Ireland, including three number ones.

Their first number one, I Useta Lover, topped the Irish charts for nine consecutive weeks and held the record for the country's all-time biggestselling single.

Renowned for their barnstorming live performances, the band has a cult following, especially in Ireland, the UK and the USA. In February 2008 The Saw Doctors received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

Moran and Carton have been the only constant presences in The Saw Doctors' ever-shifting line up. Past members have included keyboard and accordion player Tony Lambert, singer, guitarist and mandolin player John 'Turps' Burke, and keyboard player and guitarist Derek Murray.

The fluidity of the band's line-up in part accounts for the variety of musical influences, including pop, punk, rock and roll, and traditional Irish, that make up the band's signature sound.

This year saw the band appear at various music festivals, including playing at the 40th anniversary of the worldrenowned Glastonbury festival.

The Saw Doctors will release their seventh album on September 10, entitled ' The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors'. All eleven tracks were previewed at special shows in Galway during June of this year. The first single to be taken from the album will be Takin' The Train and will be released on August 20.

Tickets are currently on sale from all Ticketmaster locations nationwide for €30. For more information, please contact the Savoy Theatre on 021-4223910 or v i s i t www.savoytheatre.ie.
