Opera and light moments with Cara O'Sullivan

Thursday August 19 2010
THE Everyman Palace Theatre is inviting you to join Cara O'Sullivan, one of Cork's all time favourite singers, as she takes a nostalgic trip back through her unique career in music on Sunday, August 22 at 8pm.
As well as singing many classic favourites from her repertoire, Cara will also share some special memories with the audience. With lots of humour and behind the scenes stories, a warm and lively evening is assured.
Cara recently completed a very successful US tour, and she also recently received rave reviews for her performance in Donizetti's 'Lucia di Lammermoor' at the National Concert Hall and participated in a tribute concert for the late Gerry Ryan, where she received a standing ovation for her rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.
Cork-born Cara is an artist with an impeccable operatic pedigree who has risen to prominence as one of Ireland's leading sopranos. She is an instinctive performer with a remarkably full voice, exciting and dramatic, yet always performs with great sensitivity.
Cara has shown herself to be a fearless vocal artist, whether singing Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti or Puccini. In demand for opera, oratorio and song recitals, Cara is kept busy all year round and across the globe.
The singer's concert career and operatic engagements have taken her all over the world. Spanning an impressive and wide-ranging repertoire, Cara has been referred to as "The Irish Superstar of her generation" by the Irish Times. Cara's debut CD, Caradiva, has raised over €250,000 for her favourite charity, Marymount Hospice in Cork.
Cara will be accompanied on piano on the night by Ciara Moroney, and tickets are €23. For more information, please visit www.everymanpalace.com or call 0214501673.
