The Fureys and Davey Arthur return to Cork

AFTER more than three decades of recording and performing, the Furey's and Davy Arthur have managed to retain their position at the very top of the traditional Irish music scene.

Cork audiences will once again have an opportunity to see for themselves just why they are so highly regarded not only in Ireland but across the globe, when they return to the opera house on Sunday, March 7.

Formed in 1978, the band are behind some of the most stirring and memorable Irish music ever the capture the public imagination, with songs including The Green Fields of France, Sweet Sixteen, Steal Away and Leaving Nancy to name but a few.

Inevitably changes to the band have occurred over the years, with Finbarr Furey leaving the band in 1996 and Paul sadly passing away in 2002.

However, George, Eddie and Davey Arthur have continued to perform together, playing to sell-out audiences across the globe and releasing a new album every year.

They will be joined on stage at the opera house by two of Ireland's leading musicians, Luke Crowley and Dominic Leech.
