ONE of Ireland's most controversial comedians will pay a visit to The Lodge in Mallow this Saturday, September 4.

The ever-amusing Tommy Tiernan will visit the rebel county yet again as part of a series of extra dates for his current 'World Tour of These Places' tour.

The hilarious comedian has also added dates at The Forum in Waterford and the River Park Hotel in Enniscorthy, which will come as welcome news to all fans.

Tommy has the highest selling DVD sales in Ireland, and is second only to Irish musical legends U2 when it comes to live ticket sales in the country.

Cracked: Live at Vicar Street went straight to number one in its first week released. Jokerman: Tommy Tiernan in America not only reached quadruple platinum status, but was also nominated for an IFTA award.

The Bovinity Tour culminated in three sold out shows to an accumulated audience of 12,000 during Cork's prestigious Live at the Marquee festival, an honour which no other artist, be it Irish or international has managed to do.

In April of last year, Tommy set the Guinness World Record for the longest standup with a staggering 36 hours and 15 minutes, at Nuns Island in Galway. However, Australian comedian, Lindsay Webb, broke the record later in the year.

2010 has been hectic so far for Tommy, with shows including World Tours of Kerry, Sligo and Roscommon recently coming to a conclusion, as well as the world-renowned Toronto Just for Laughs Festival in Canada. Tommy has also performed in The Royal Albert Hall, and completed a sell-out tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Tommy was also back in Edinburgh last month with a solo run of his new show, Crooked Man, which began on August 20 in the Gilded Balloon Teviot.

Upcoming shows include a six-week solo tour in the UK and the Navan man will finish off with a return to his very own Anfield Road, Vicar Street during November and December.

Tickets are €28 and are available from The Lodge or from Ticketmaster (booking charge may apply). For more, please contact Billy at The Lodge.
