Boys' school to be opened by Minister next week
NEWMARKET BOYS SCHOOL: The redevelopment of our school playground has been completed, and the Board of Management and staff extend a warm welcome to all members of the community, who wish to view and to attend its official opening by Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan, on September 10 at 12 noon.

TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Templemore, Co Tipperary was the venue for the final Munster juvenile held Sunday. At the end of a long day most people were tired but for our athletes and supporters most were happy with the results.

MUNSTER SUPREMO VISITS KANTURK UNDER AGE RUGBY PLAYERS: Munster Rugby's head coach Tony McGahan came to Kanturk last Wednesday to present the victorious Kanturk RFC U15 team with their South Munster Cup winners medals.
Young stars shine as Fantasy dance show wows the crowds
THE long-awaited Spotlight production The Fantasy Show took place last Thursday night to a packed Mallow Youth centre. Youth worker, Robert Green did his chances of a career in the entertainment industry no harm at all with his lavish entrance as MC for the night, but despite Robert's best efforts, there was no doubt who the crowd were there to see.
Information night for those off to third-level
TRANSITION FROM SECONDARY TO THIRD LEVEL: IRD Duhallow's Youth and Education Working Group will host an information night entitled ' The Transition from Secondary to Third Level' on Wednesday, September 15 at 7.30pm in The James O'Keeffe Institute, Newmarket.
Soccer club enjoying a winning start
CFC BANTEER: AFTER getting promoted from third division last season things are looking up for CFC Banteer. They had a nil all draw agaings a very strong Ballyvolane team. On Thursday, August 26 they had a 3-1 victory against Waterloo in Waterloo with two goals from Paudie Ryan and one from Darren Riordan. On Saturday, August 28, CFC Banteer had another victory against Coachford in Coachford with a score line of 2-1 with Aidan Murphy and Anthony Carter scoring for Banteer. Their next game is Thursday, September 2 against Cresent Athletic in Banteer at 6.30pm. All support welcome.
