Analeentha NS novelty act one step away from Scór glory
ANALEENTHA REACH COUNTY FINAL: Last Monday Analeentha National School reached the Scór Na Páisti county final when they won their semi-final in the Novelty Act. After much preparation and practice the cast and crew Having won the North Cork final they are now one step away from County Honors.
This is the first time that the school has had a novelty act in the Final and we wish them the best of luck.
The cast comprises of Gearoid Ó Sé, John Martin O'Hanlon, Mike Forde, Niamh O'Connell, Aoife Walsh and Elma Mortell. Mrs. Leahy is the Producer. The Final takes place this Sunday in the Ovens GAA Complex at 2.30pm. ANALEENTHA INDOOR HURLING COMPETITION: Analeentha National School had another success when they won the Indoor Hurling Competition held in Doneraile recently. Well done to the team of Gearoid Ó Se, John Martin O'Hanlon, Mike Forde, James Buckley and Mark O'Sullivan.
SEANIE MURPHY: Last Friday Night on RTE's Late Late Show the Parish was proudly represented by Seanie Murphy Ballinamona who was short listed in the Charities Goal Photography Competition. Over 2,000 entries were submitted to the show whereby the winner would go to Calcutta to capture the work Goal is undertaking their. Five pictures were shortlisted and Seanie was one of them.
It was of an old man sitting on his kitchen table having a cup of tea, the judges were highly impressed by it. Seanie only took up photography as a serious hobby four years ago when he joined the Mallow Camera Club, and he won photographer of the year twice since then. After the judges looked at the five entries Seanie emerged the winner and will travel to Calcutta in the near future. He also won a new Camera worth €500. We say well done to him and wish him the best in India.

County Board Draw — Well Done to John Dorgan who won €250 in Curaheen park when his selected dog won in the Cork County Board Draw Race last week. This brings to six the number of winners we've had in the county board draw to date.
SIGERSON CUP: Congratulations to Ray Carey who was full back on the CIT team that won the Sigerson Cup in Cork two weeks ago.
They beat DIT in a very enjoyable match, this adds to Ray's impressive list of medals. We wish him the best With his further football career.
CONGRATS TO NIALL O'MULLANE AND TRUDY HEALY: On February 20 last Niall O'Mullane, Monaparson and Trudy Healy, Island tied the knot in St John the Baptist's Church Burnfort.
We pass on our congratulations to them and wish them all the best for the future.
ICA: Mourneabbey ICA would like to thank everyone that supported their Pamper Night. A great night was had by all and everyone went home relaxed, rejuvenated, and looking beautiful thanks to Mairead Vaughan, Evelyn Humphrey's, Michelle Ford, and Mary O'Sullivan.
The next ICA Meeting will be held in the Community Centre on March 11 at 8.30pm.
BOTTLEHILL GOLF SOCIETY: There was a great turnout for the first outing of the society which was held in Water Rock Golf Club. Forty members took to the field and among them were ten new members. The day was kind to us also and a great day was had by all. Bernard O'Keeffe took the honours in category one while Mark Cooney, one of our new members won in category two. Well done to all.
The next outing will take place to the Lee Valley Golf Club on Sunday March 29 next. The sign in sheet will be available at The Hill Bar from next week. Or members can contact any committee member to sign in for them.
