Basketball
The dream of two Mallow girls winning three All Ireland Senior Basketball medals was shattered in Tallagh on Sunday when Team Montennotte failed in their defence of the cup and a record breaking four in a row. Donna Buckley and Marie Breen had huge local support but sadly the Cork teams continous failure in netting free shots paid dividends for the Coolock side but there is no doubt Donna and Marie will remain champions in our minds and hearts.
