Thursday October 29 2009
THE popular Mallow's Got Talent competition is back with a bang in Fitzy's Bar in O'Brien Street. The first heat of the talent show commenced last Friday evening and continues every Friday at 9.30 pm where each night up to seven competitors get the chance to compete in later rounds. The competition is the brainchild of Johnny Bottles Griffin and Jimmy Mahony who cohost the event. The final will be held later in the year where money and prizes will be up for grabs for the winners and guest judges will have the tough task of picking the outright winners. wishes to congratulate the Mallow Tidy Town group for their great clean-up work around Mallow which is all on a voluntary basis. She is happy that the group is now receiving much deserved recognition for their concerns on cleanliness and the removal of refuse and rubbish from various parts of the town including roads and estates. The group received a runner - up prize of a cheque to the value of €300 from Muintir Na Tire for their work on Mallow Bridges and Margaret says the area around the Ten Arch bridge is now immaculate due to the efforts of the Mallow Tidy Town group.
