Development of community complex enters final phase

WORK continues in the Community Complex in Mourneabbey as the final phase of the development begins.

The early stages of the new walkway has begun and over the next few weeks, the walkway will be laid and the lighting installed.

A new training pitch has also been leveled off and will be reseeded shortly.

The Community Hall refurbishment continues also with the new extension nearing completion and the new utility room also finished. Painting and finishing touches will have to be applied here to finish the job.

Within 12 months it is hoped the final stages of this 1.5 million redeveloped will be complete.

BOTTLEHILL GOLF SOCIETY

Willie Finn from the Fermoy Golf Club returned a great score of 38 to take the Captain's Prize for 2009.

On a day when the wind was tricky but the rain held off, there were some good scores returned but Willie took the prize for his first time.

Second on the day was Paudie Corkery with the emerging Mark Cooney in close pursuit.

The category 2 first prize went to Alan O'Mahony and second was Pat O'Connell.

The next outing takes place at Blarney Golf Resort on Saturday August 29th.

GAA MEETING

An important club meeting will be held on Friday night at 9pm onAugust 7th when a new club president will be elected.

All members are asked to attend.

GAA LOTTO

Lotto results from 31st July. The numbers drawn were: 2, 11, 12, 17. There was no winner.

Spot prize winners were: €50, Joan Gallagher, Glanworth; €30, Niall Cronin, Greenhill; € 20, Mary Buckley, Mallow; €20, Mary O'Connor, Grenagh; € 20, Dan Joe Browne, Burnfort.

The next draw, with a jackpot of €12,500, takes place on Friday Aug 7th in Derry Murphy's, Ballinamona.

CLYDA ROVERS FIXTURES

In the Minor A Football Championship, Clyda Rovers play Charleville on Tuesday August 11th at 7pm in

Churchtown.

WELL DONE

Well Done to Ray Carey and Paudie Kissane who both played staring roles for Cork in their victory over Donegal in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship last Sunday.It was indeed a proud day for the club to have two players involved in Croke Park for the first time in our history in the All-Ireland Championship.

We look forward to the Tyrone match in the Semi's with great anticipation.
