Drama Group returns with 'The Wife's Family'

GLEN THEATRE: Banteer Drama Group returns once again to the Glen Theatre this weekend for their 21st season of 3 act pays.

This year's drama offering is a hillarous comedy, ' The Wife's Family' and is again bound to be an outstanding success.

The cast welcomes back some familiar faces, Tadhg and Seamus O'keeffe, Joan Duggan, Jimmy Noonan, Maureen O'brien and Anita Sherlock.

They are joined by Tim Steward, Denny O Connell, Noreen O Connell, Denise Gallagher and Eileen Cotter. The curtain goes up at 8.30pm on Saturday and Sunday night February 18th and 19th. For further information and bookings contact 029 56239.

DROMTARIFFE LADIES FOOTBALL SOCIAL: Dromtariffe Ladies Football club will hold their annual function on March 2 at Kanturk Golf Club at 8pm.

This function is to present medals to all teams who brought victory home to the club and also to honour the five girls who played with Cork u14 and minors during the year winning Munster and All Ireland medals with their respective teams.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are €8 each or family tickets are €40. Tickets are available from Denise at 086-3458250 or Helen at 0876911290.

FIANNA FAIL CUMANN MEETING: Fianna Fail Cumann Meeting which was scheduled to take place last Monday night has been deferred to next Monday February 20 at 8pm in Rathcoole School. The reason for the deferral was due to a very important meeting being held in Kanturk to discuss the Hospital and Ambulance Service in the area.

AFTERNOON OF PRAYER: On Sunday the 25th March commencing at 2.30pm their will be an Afternoon of Prayer including Holy Mass in Banteer Community Centre commencing at 2.30pm with the Friars of the Renewal.

The evening includes, Rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Talk by Fr. Charles, Holy Mass and Adoration, Benediction and Eucharistic Blessing. The evening will conclude with blessing of First Class Relics of St. Pio. For further information contact Eamonn on 029 56269 or 086 1961098.

DROMTARIFFE GA.A. LOTTO DRAW RESULTS: Winning Numbers were 5,9,15 and 25 and there was no winner of the jackpot of the jackpot of €4,000.

Results: Bweeng: Conor Roche (Donoughmore) beat Donal Cullinane (Kilcorney) by two bowles of odds. €300. Kevin Ruby ( Junior) (Dromahane) beat Timmy O Connor (Nadd) by a bowl of odds N/S. Gortrooe: Noel Murphy ( Gaeltacht) beat Denis Connolly (Glanmire) by a bowl of odds (€1400). Timmy O Connor beat Donal Cullinane by two bowles of odds (€700).

KILCORNEY NATIONAL SCHOOL: Rehersals are in full swing for the upcoming production of 'The Lion King' in the Glen Theatre on February 29 at 7 o'clock. Scar, Simba, Sazu, Mufasa and many more are very busy learning lines, songs and dance moves.
