Fr O'Mullane Mass to be celebrated this Sunday
FR. O MULLANE COMMEMORATION MASS: Mass will be celebrated in Kilcorney on Sunday November 6th at 10.30am to commemorate the 120th Anniversary of the death of Fr. John O Mullane.
A native of Newmarket the story of his life and death has been well documented and his memory is still retained by the people of Kilcorney and indeed much further afield.
Prayers will also be offered for all the departed at Old Kilcorney Graveyard at 3pm.
BALLINCOLLIG DRAMA FESTIVAL: Banteer Glen players were once again the biggest winners at last week's Ballincollig Drama Festival swooping no less than 6 awards. Adjudicator Catherine Beamish was fulsome in her praise of both plays for the quality of its entertainment, comedy, acting ability, direction and production. A Wake in the West was awarded best play, best director, comic golden moment and best comedy. Last Tango in the Glen received two awards with best supporting actors Sinead Murphy and Martin O'riordan.
Both plays return to the Glen this Friday and Sunday at 8.30pm. 3 further shows are planned for next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11th to the 13th inclusive. Full houses are anticipated for all shows so booking is advisable. For further details and bookings contact 029 56239.
KILCORNEY SOCIAL CLUB: Kilcorney Social Club will re-commence for the winter season on Tuesday November 8th at 8pm in the Kilcorney Social Club.. Please come along for a cup of tea, a chat and a friendly game of cards.
REMEMBERING OUR FAITHFUL DEPARTED: A special Mass will be said in each Church in the parish of Banteer for all those who have died since Nov 1st 2010. Banteer Nov 9th at 8pm, Lyre Tuesday Nov 15th at 8pm and Kilcorney Friday Nov 18th at 8pm.
DROMTARIFFE JUVENILLE SOCIAL: Dromtariffe Juvenille G.A.A. will hold their Annual Social in the Wallis Arms on Friday November 25th at 8pm. The past season has been very successful with the u-14 double winners being among the highlight.
Tickets will be available from Derrinagree Post Office and Rathcoole Post Office. Early booking is advisable as numbers will be limited.
COFFEE MORNING IN AID OF MARYMOUNT HOSPICE: Coffee morning in aid of Marymount Hospice will be held on Sunday 13th November in the Kilcorney Social Centre commencing at 11am until 3pm. Please support this worthy cause.
