Thursday March 11 2010

SCOR SINSEAR: Best Wishes to Rockchapel instrumental group who got through to the Munster final of Scor Sinsear, following their semi-final success in Millstreet last Sunday.

Best of luck to the lads in the final on Sunday March 21 in Ballybunion. Unfortunately our figure dancers and set dancers weren't so lucky but still gave a fine display on the day.

WIN AND SPIN: Results Friday, March 5. Daniel Curtin, Meelin €30; John O'Sullivan, Meelin €40; Mossie Burke, Castleisland €30; Amber Percival, Dingle €100. Congratulations to Dinny O'Driscoll of Newmarket who scooped the €1,020 Jackpot.

JUNIOR B FOOTBALL: Our Junior B footballers had their first win of the season with a victory over Glenlara on the scoreline of 3-7 to 0-4, in a game played in Meelin last Sunday.

ST. PETER'S CHELTENHAM WEEK DONKEY DERBY: A fundraising night will be held in Paddy Molly's Bar, Rockchapel, on Tuesday night, March 16, at 9pm. As this is Cheltenham week, and the eve of St. Patrick's Day, a big turnout is expected for this fun event.

All funds raised will go towards the running of our Juvenile football club. Tickets, at €20 each, are available from Club Officials. Girls Under 12 and Under 10 Football: St Peters Under 12 and Under 10 Girls Football Club will be arranging training shortly for all the girls of the area who are interested in taking part. Further details may be had from Mary Walsh on 086 2465364.

JUVENILE FOOTBALL FIXTURES: Our Under 12 footballers are scheduled to play Lyre in their first league game of the season next Sunday morning at 10.30 in Meelin. The Under 16s follow this at 12 noon, also against Lyre.
