Great fun had at Christmas party

Thursday December 03 2009

CHRISTMAS PARTY: The Annual Christmas Party was held on Sunday last in the community centre, and was one of the most successful one yet.

The afternoon began with mass in St. John the Baptist Church at 2pm, with Fr. Michael Campbell celebrating assisted by Fr. Frank O'Neill P.P. Ballyclough and Kilbrin.

When Mass ended we went to the community centre where about 60 people were treated to a beautiful three course meal served by Watson's caterers Dromcollogher, with the help of local people. At the end of the meal a beautiful Christmas cake made by Kay Cashman, was cut by Nellie Field, Curraghs the eldest person at the party.

We wish to thank the following: Mary Corkery, Kilbrin Social Club and Community Council, Pat and Edel Drumm for the Hamper, John and Helena Corkery who sponsored the wine and spot prizes, Noreen Heffernan who sponsored spot prize, Kay Cashman, Christmas cake, Kilbrin GAA Club, Kilbrin Community Council, and to everyone who helped in any way to make the party such a huge success. My apologies if I have ommited anybody. KILBRIN GAA: Kilbrin U21 hurlers have been showing great form in the past few weeks they defeated Kanturk after extra time in Mourneabbey, then on Sunday last they defeated Millstreet in Meelin to reach the final. CHRISTMAS PARTY: A christmas party will be held in the community centre for all customers (old and new) and staff of the social club on Saturday December 12.
