Sean NOs Dancing Classes: Classes for sean os dancing, is beginning in Murray's Bar, Macroom starting on Tuesday night, September 14 at 8pm for beginners, and 8.40pm for improvers, and if the students weant to stay on for the improvers class, they will be very welcome. Dick Beamish is the teacher, and when classes are over Aghinagh and Kilnamartyra Comhaltas will have a session, so the craic will be mighty! Come along learn a few steps, impress your friends, and
have the craic. BACK AT SCHOOL: Last Monday was the first day at school for many children. The little ones starting shool were very excited, and apprehensive, but their parents were weepy. Second level students were also a little nervous, they are facing into the big bad world of adulthood. RECENT BIRTHs: Congratulations to Rita and Derry Kelleher on the birth of their son Patrick a little brother for Ellen and Eugene. RECENT ENGAGEMENT: Congratulations to Cathy Looney, Annagannihy and David Murnane, Macroom who got engaged recently. SINGERS CLUB: A singers club has started recently in Macroom, where singers of all types of song are welcome, either in English or as Gaeilge. This is the brainchild of Joe Creedon, who recently won the solo Irish Singing in Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Cavan. Storytellers and people reciting recitation, will also be welcome. The first singers club was held on Sunday night last in The Next Door Cafe of the Castle Hotel, and the next session will be on Sunday night, September 12 from 9pm to 11.30pm. It is not a new concept, theres a singers club in Cork City for years and one also in Bandon.so if you like to sing a song
come along. RECENT BEREVEMENTS: Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Mary Canniffe, who passed away recently, to the family of Dermot Regan of O'Regan Precast, who also died recently.
