Kilcorney coffee morning raises € 1,436 for hospice
COFFEE MORNING IN AID OF MARYMOUNT HOSPICE: The organisers of the recent Coffee Morning which was held in the Kilcorney Social Centre raised a total of €1,436.00.
This event was in aid of the Sisters of Charity, St Patricks Hospital, Marymount, Cork. The organisers would like to express their thanks to all those who supported the event by attending or donating to this worthy cause.
GLEN THEATRE: Banteer Drama Group returns to the Glen Theatre this weekend for their 21st season of 3 act pays.
This year's drama offering is a hillarous comedy, ' The Wife's Family' and is again bound to be an outstanding success.
The cast once again welcomes back some familiar faces, Tadhg & Seamus O Keeffe, Joan Duggan, Jimmy Noonan, Maureen O Brien and Anita Sherlock. They are joined by Tim Steward, Denny O Connell, Noreen O Connell, Denise Gallagher and Eileen Cotter.

DROMTARIFFE GOLF SOCIETY A.G.M: Dromtarriffe Golf Society will hold it's 10th annual general meeting in the Fairfield Room Dromagh Community Hall on Friday night February 10th 2012 at 8 30pm sharp.
This Society has surpassed all expectations since its humble begining 10 years ago with about six members at that first meeting to where it is today with well in excess of 50 members.
This is entirely down to the hard work, good organizination and people management of the committee. Secretary Sean Feely have been there since day one, Maurice Angland was the first Captain and ever since we have been blessed with the quality of Captain chosen to lead this Society.
The incoming Captain Denis (Pops) Murphy have given a huge amount of time, done trojan work, and is immensely popular within the Society.
Pops took over the role of Captaincy on December 29 last after the prize giving of the very popular Presidents outing in Killarney and in his acceptance speech he outlined a few of the things he would like put into practice for the 2012 season, but noted the A.G.M was the place to do that and apealed to all the members to attend and there was up to 50 there that day so all in all there should be a very big turn out. FIANNA FAIL CUMANN MEETING: A meeting of the Rathcoole, Dromagh and Derrinagree Fianna Fail Cumann's will take place in the Rathcoole National School on Monday night February 13th 2012 at 8pm sharp. This meeting is to discuss the amalgamation of all three Cumanns into one parish Cumann as encouraged nationwide by the Fianna Fail H.Q. If the motion is proposed, seconded and passed there will then follow a General Meeting where a committee will be elected and the new Cumann will then be named and details fowarded for registration. BOWLING NOTES: The unexpected death of Bernie O Donoghue of Glanmire caused somewhat of a shock throughout the bowling community and beyond.
A fine bowler he played at novice, veteran and vintage levels.
He was a handfull for any bowler on any road, besides playing championship he played many a tournament and challenge score, however he was as well known for his road showing skills.
