Mother's Day dance in community centre

MOTHER'S DAY: A dance will be held in the community centre from 3pm on Mother's Day. Music by Dick Kiely. Admission Free.

HILLWALKERS: The annual climb of Carrauntoohill on Good Friday 2010 for Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin. If interested please contact Mary or Bill at 087 7822227 or 087 2587898.

PRESENTATION: A presentation for Tom O'Sullivan, Bus Driver in the social centre Saturday March 13, commencing at 9pm. Music: Dick Kiely.

80'S DISCO: An 80s Disco will be held in the Social Club Bar on this Tuesday March 16 at 9.30pm. No cover charge! Everyone Welcome.

ST. PATRICKS EVENING: The Butterfly Company presents 'Caoilte', a presentation of Irish song and dance on St. Patricks evening from 6-7pm. €5.

KILBRIN SOCIAL CLUB: The social club will hold a Public Information Evening on Thursday March 18 at 8pm, facilitated by IRD.

The information evening will be of great interest to everyone in the parish, covering funding for various voluntary groups, and services on offer to the public also to new and existing business. Everyone welcome.

KILBRIN NATIONAL SCHOOL: Kilbrin National School will be holding an Open Day in the school on Thursday, March 18 from 7pm-8.30pm, to introduce any new pupils to the school, to view our facilities and to meet the staff. We would be grateful if you would inform us of any new families or intending families in the surrounding area. Everybody Welcome.

G.A.A: Kilbrin G.A.A. Club will hold a meeting on this Thursday night March 11 at 8.45pm in the club rooms. All those wishing to become full members of the club should do so before March 25.

KILBRIN GAA: Kilbrin footballers suffered a defeat at the hand of near neighbours and rivals Castlemagner on Sunday last in a league game played in Kilbrin. Playing against the wind in the first half Kilbrin held their own but the more experienced Castle took over in the second half adding some good scores while holding Kilbrin scoreless for the half.

Presentation of medals: The presentation of medals to Kilbrin U 21 hurlers and the Junior B footballers will be held in the community club on Saturday March 27.

Food and music will be provided on the night. On that night also Kilbrin GAA Club, in conjunction with Kilbrin National School, will launch their Lotto which will be run on a fortnightly basis, tickets will cost €2 each or three for €5 for a very attractive jackpot.

This is going to be one of the major fund-raisers for the club so full support from the parish and outside will be greatly appreciated.

Draws will take place every fortnight and will be held in the Community Club and The Seven Elms Bar every alternative night. SCRIBBLES TODDLER GROUP: The Kilbrin toddler group continues every Thursday morning from 10-12.

All parents and guardians of pre-school children welcome to come along here the children run around and play and the adults can have a friendly chat over light refreshments. New members always welcome. €4 cover charge per family Easter egg hunt On Thursday April 1 at the toddler group weather permitting.

B A STAR: Kilbrin community will be hosting an evening of famous star singers, Tom Jones, Susan Boyle, Elvis, Madonna, Boyzone and the likes on Saturday, April 10. The stars for the show will be home produced.

If you would like to participate on the night you can contact John Corkery, Tom O'Riordan. It is hoped that all areas of the parish are represented. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday next March 15 at 8.30pm. The organisers are looking for people to help out on the night, backstage or where help is needed, it is important to attend the meeting on the night.

PANCAKES: John Corkery and Thomas O'Riordan would like to thank everyone who helped and attended the social club on shrove Tuesday night to support the charity Haven.

A cheque for €1,051.10 cent was handed over to two Duhallow men, John F. O'Connor, Kiskeam and Jerry O'Leary, Millstreet, who will be travelling to Haiti to help in the building of houses. We wish them the best of luck.

It is hoped to make pancake night an annual event from now on and help a charity that needs finance at that time.
