PATRICIAN Academy Rotary Club can be seen around Mallow working tirelessly to raise money for the charity End Polio Now. Not long ago, the world was paralysed by the fear of polio. In response to this suffering, the Rotary along with the World Health Organisation, UNICEF, and the U.S. centres for Disease Control and Prevention undertook an ambitious humanitarian programme to rid the world of the wild poliovirus. Eradicating polio means that no child ever again will be paralysed by or die from the wild poliovirus. The Patrician Academy Rotarians have joined a worldwide effort to eradicate polio by selling purple wristbands to raise money for this worthy cause. These students are very grateful for all the support they have received.
