GRENAGH LADIES FOOTBALL: The final of the County Junior League has been fixed for Monday, September 13. The u16 girls, delighted to be allowed back into the championship after the withdrawal of Bishopstown, made the most of their good fortune by scoring a thrilling 5-9 to 4-8 win over Kilshannig at Glantane on Monday evening. Grenagh were quickly into their stride scoring some great points as well as three goals from sisters Maebh and Kate Donovan. Then the defence showed their true grit, with Siobhan Flaherty bring off some vital saves with Laura O'Farrell, Christine Walsh, Aine Cronin, Sarah Buckley and Meg O'Regan put under a lot of pressure but they coped well. Doireann Moynihan worked tirelessly at midfield. Killshannig to be fair never gave up but each time they came with a score of Grenagh, Kate Donovan replied with breakaway goals. Amid tremendous excitement, the Grenagh girls held out and go on to play Ilen Rovers in the semi-final this coming weekend. Meanwhile on Saturday last at Ovens the u10 girls impressed in the blitz. They had good wins over Donoughmore, Nemo Rangers and Bishopstown before bowing out in the semi-final by a goal to hosts Eire Og, after leading by a point at the interval. Eire og won the
