Red Cross needs volunteers with a gentle touch
THE Red Cross is looking for new volunteers in therapeutic hand care for Kanturk and Millstreet Hospitals.
On Saturday March 10, Kanturk / Millstreet Red Cross Branch will be giving a training session on therapeutic hand care in the new training centre in Kanturk to train volunteers for the local hospitals. volunteers will be trained to give a hand message and or a manicure. The relaxing effects of the message is very beneficial, especially for those with painful or stiff joints and it can improve flexibility and suppleness. It is also a means of communication through touch and spending time with a person is the most valuable aspect of the service.
