Soccer club enjoying a winning start
CFC BANTEER: AFTER getting promoted from third division last season things are looking up for CFC Banteer. They had a nil all draw agaings a very strong Ballyvolane team. On Thursday, August 26 they had a 3-1 victory against Waterloo in Waterloo with two goals from Paudie Ryan and one from Darren Riordan. On Saturday, August 28, CFC Banteer had another victory against Coachford in Coachford with a score line of 2-1 with Aidan Murphy and Anthony Carter scoring for Banteer. Their next game is Thursday, September 2 against Cresent Athletic in Banteer at 6.30pm. All support welcome.

SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to the Harty Family, Dromskehy, Dromagh on the death of Edmund J Harty. He is deeply regretted by his wife Eileen and family Mary, Don and Caroline, brother Kieran, extended family, relatives and friends. Removal took place from his home to Dromagh Parish Church and burial took place following requiem Mass to Killury Cemetery, Causeway. May he rest in peace.
Sympathy is also extended to the family of Theresa Twomey (Nee O'Mahony) late of Rathcoole and Cullen. She is deeply regretted by her husband, Jerry, children John, Fiona, Dermot and Noreen, foster children Marie, Aisling, Precious and Caroline, father Timothy (Thade), grand-daughter Sophie, extended family relatives and friends. Removal took place from Tarrant's Funeral Home, Millstreet to St John's Church, Dromagh and burial took place following requiem Mass to Cullen Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
