QUIZ: A Clondrohid legend Jamie Kelleher holding Millstreet connections was remembered on the staging of a table quiz in his memory. Here some of the best known quiz enthusiasts furrowed their brows in seach of the answers on a hosting in the Tavern Bar.
The late Jamie was a well known quiz enthusiast and his novel organisational ability of quizzes brought numbers to Clondrohid over the years. His passing created regret yet Jamie's name lives on with friends and former work colleagues of the former Macroom Bank of Ireland porter convening to organise a table quiz.
Quiz master Michael Lynch kept it all together on throwing out some real brainteasers from the soaps, general knowledge, current affairs, anagrams, photographs and sport.
More than thirty teams put the answers to the questions and by the end of the proceedings, a deadlocked situation emerged between teams from Ballingeary and Millstreet.
Into a playoff, sampling outright success were a Millstreet team of Liam Flynn, Pat Sheehan and Kieran Creed, Taking runner up position were Ballingeary's trio comprising Paul Kelleher, Fionoula McCarthy and Aoife Dineen.

GAA: Millstreet faltered away to Knocknagree 2-7 to 0-10 in the Ducon Cup where goals either side of the interval paved the way for a home win. From a fast paced encounter, both sides enjoyed pockets of dominance yet Knocknagree just about deserved their three point win but not before they were made to sweat it out on a battling Millstreet.
A nip and tuck affair developed from the outset though Knocknagree shaded matters to secure a 1-3 to 0-4 interval advantage.
Back came a dogged Millstreet upon the resumption with Desmond O'Sullivan, Brian Sheahan and Mark Ellis to the fore. Points to Michael Murphy, Michael Vaughan and John Lehane offered encouragement.
However Knocknagree held the facility to respond and despite Millstreet's best intentions, the game was wrapped up in favour of the home side with a late goal.
Millstreet lined out as Denis Kiely, Kevin Hickey, Desmond O'Sullivan, Patrick Randles, Donal O'Sullivan, Brian Sheahan, Eamon O'Keeffe, Patrick Coleman, Mark Ellis, Michael Murphy, Tadgh Collins, Michael Vaughan, Darren Murphy, John Lehane, James Broxton.
