The next race will take place in Thurles on January 18 where another win will hopefully be achieved.
Local soccer update
Waterloo 3, Donoughmore AFC 2
WATERLOO conceded home advantage in this AUL 2A game which was then played in Stuake on Sunday morning last.
The pitch was in excellent condition at the commencement of play but persistant rain made conditions deteriorate very quickly and from that point the game became a lottery.
Donoughmore started well but were rocked back on there heals when Waterloo scored twice without reply to go in at half-time 2-0 up. Donoughmore upped there game for the second half and Ken Culinane scored a beauty from 25 yards into the top corner to make it 2-1. However, from the restart a mistake from Donoughmore's normally reliable sweeper allowed Waterloo to regain their two goal advantage. Conditions continued to deteriorate and the surface was unplayable in several areas of the pitch but both teams slogged it out anyway in the energy sapping conditions.
Donoughmore were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute which Patrick O'Sullivan converted, but try as they might Donoughmore couldn't find the equaliser.
