Coursing draws big crowds to Millstreet

MILD weather greeted the two day Millstreet Coursing meeting which drew a big attendance tomillstreet Town Park.

A popular winner emerged in the North Cork Cup after Cool Storm came racing through to take the spoils by four lengths against Turn the Tide. The winner is owned by Dave Nelligan from Castleisland.

The Derby Trial Stake was won in good style by Face the Nation, owned by New York based PJ Quinn, whose charge coasted to an eightlengths triumph over Son of a Queen. A popular win in the Oaks Trial Stake saw Oileann Smile, owned by Kiskeam's Seán Meehan, get the better of Early Move. Citizen Cider, owned by Anne Fitzgibbon from the Millstreet club, shaded matters over Fleetwood Nick in the Denis 'Toots' Kelleher Game Protection Cup. And the popular Tanyard Stakes belonged to the Headford owned Shronedraugh Gal on overcoming Ballydaly Inca by a length.
