Job Fit aims to solve skills woes
ARE you unemployed or in search of a job? Then get along to the Job Fit Roadshow whcih is coming to Cork today, Thursday 2nd.
The roadshow is part of a new initiative to support people to upskill or retrain and get a job, and is coming to Ballincollig Shopping Centre from 10am to 3pm.
Centre manager at the Cork Job Fit centre, Sinead O'Brien, said the sole aim of the company is to support people who may have left education early or have been let go from their jobs, to take the next step towards employment, with their help.
"We completely understand the challenges people face in looking for employment and how endless applications and knocking on doors can leave people zapped of self-confidence," Sinead said. "JobFit is here to help people focus their energies and to re-build their sense of self-esteem, to identify the opportunities most suitable to them, and to maximise their chances of success."
It will also be possible to register for the JobFit programme — a 13-week personalised programme for unemployed people, offering free skills training, free job search support and free work placements with local employers – in Ballincollig when the roadshow visits.
JobFit is available to people who have been receiving benefits for a minimum of three months and who are qualified to Junior Certificate level or below. The programme currently operates from the Blackpool Retail Park and places are available immediately.
