Mallow handball ace triumphs in Tuscon

MALLOW Handball ace Killian Carroll has done it again. The Patrician Academy student overcame Mexico's Daniel Cordova in Tuscon Arizona on Friday December 30 with a convincing 21-14 to 21-5 win in the 56th United States Handball Association National Juniors Four- Wall Championships which were held from from Tuesday December 27 to Friday December 30.
Killian's tally so far in the USHANJFWC also includes four Singles titles and two Doubles titles. His route to this years honours included victories over Julian Armendaritz from St. Louis with a score of 21-1, 21-6, Hector Facio from Kansas 21-3, 21-3 and in the semi's outgunned Julio Garcia from QC BY 21-8, 21-8. Killian holds the honour as captain of the Irish team.
Meanwhile Mallow doubles player Patrick Herlihy and partner Colin Crehan from Clarehaven were also triumphant after winning the 2011 US National Junior 4-Wall Championship Boys Doubles at U/ 17 and under in Arizona with a score of 16-5.
