Soccer blitz is kids stuff
SOCCER fanatics from across Cork are being urged to don their boots for the 2012 Childline seven-a-side soccer challenge. The event will see 20 teams go head-to-head at the Mayfield Leisure Centre on Sunday, March 11. Each team of 10 (seven players and three subs) is being asked to fundraise € 1,500 to take part in this event. With each Childline call answered costing € 5, each team has the potential to help us answer a further 300 calls from children and young people around Ireland. Companies, friends, family and teams are encouraged to take part in this great event, which is guaranteed to shake off the winter cobwebs. As well as helping Childline the winning team will also win a trip to a top premiership match.
