Treasure hunt in the woods
IS your family fascinated by wildlife? Then join the Irish Wildlife Trust Cork Branch for a scavenger hunt in Farran woods on Sunday, February 19.
Taking place from 12-1.30pm, the event is lead by Millstreet Educational Officer and experienced ecologist Lorna O'mahony and is sure to be a fun filled and informative afternoon. The scavenger hunt is a treasure hunt for natural plants and animals. During the hunt the kids will find and learn about many of the plants and animals native to Farran woods and typical to coniferous and deciduous Irish woodlands â?” from fallen leaves to Red and Fallow deer. Trekkers might even learn a little about invasive species and the effect of the mild winter on plants. Note: children must be accompanied by at least one adult, and do dress for the outdoors.
