Dromtariffe defy gale in storming comeback

A COMPLETE transformation allowed Dromtariffe come from behind to storm past Millstreet in the North Cork U16 'A' Football Championship semi-final in Cullen.
Trailing at the break by two points after performing with the aid of a near gale, Dromtariffe chisselled out a terriffic recovery through hard work and persistance. Some key positional moves allowed Dromtariffe find their stride and the ability to carve out goaling opportunities proved crucial to the outcome.
Dromtariffe enjoyed a postive opening spell with Seán Cremin in fine shooting form that allowed his side jump ahead 0-8 to 0-2.
Millstreet proceeded to take the wind out of the Dromtariffe sails to assume control through the encouraging efforts of Paul and Beircheart O'Connor along with Cathal Crowley and Tomás Sheehan. A productive spell was capped with a fine goal from Sheehan that saw Millstreet lead 1-7 to 0-8 at the break.
Though a wind assisted Millstreet added to their tally, Dromtariffe drew level from a Michael Healy goal. Millstreet cancelled that out on three prompt points.
However, Dromtariffe quickly countered and enjoyed a definite edge from the withdrawel of Denis O'Donoughue from attack into defence. Additonal support from Cremin, Michael O'Brien and Healy switched the initiative to Dromtariffe.
Hitting a hectic pace, two goals from substitute Conor Cremin put Dromtariffe in the driving seat. Millstreet did reply from a goal from Rory O'Connor yet Dromtariffe funnelled back in numbers to limit any further threats.
