Dromtariffe face Millstreet in league semi-final
THE second semi-final to the Junior B Football League bring Dromtariffe and Millstreet to Cullen on this Friday evening,
From a competitive preliminary series of games, the last position in the knockout phase wasn't determined untl the concluding tie where Millstreet edged out Boherbue thanks to gaining a draw.
Dromtariffe enjoyed a productive campaign and their consistency secured a top of the table position. The influencial play of John A Browne, Seán O'Callaghan, John O'Sullivan and Brian O'Riordan surfaced to overcome Cullen in their previous outing.
For their part, Millstreet finished the opening series on a positive note. However it took an important draw against Boherbue to secure their position in the knockout phase in a contest where Donal Linehan, Donal Cashman, Liam O'Connor and Robert Kelleher stood out.
Dromtariffe hold a terrific record in the competition and Millstreet will need to be at their best if they are to advance and meet Lyre in the decider.
Two Duhallow sides Croke Rovers and Dromtariffe contest the North Cork Minor B Hurling Championship Final following respective wins over Kildorrery and St. Kevins.
Also, well done to Dromtariffe on advancing to a Co. U14 B Hurling Championship Final against Bride Rovers following a win over St. Finbarrs B.
A meeting with the County Board and Duhallow clubs regarding the Cork GAA Clubs Draw 2011/12 takes place in the Kanturk GAA Clubrooms on this Thursday at 8:30pm.
