League and championship double for Clyda Rovers
half and they created a number of scoring chances. Glanworth were short key player Sean Fin and they struggled all through.
Cian O'Sullivan opened Clyda's account with Maurice Clarke and and Cian O'Sullivan working well for Conor O'Sullivan to point. Glanworth had their only score of the game in the 11th minute when a quickly taken free by Dave Pyne was sent over by Eoin Baker. Both defences did well but overall Clyda were able to use the short passing to better effect and they added points by Robert Walsh and two from Conor Flanagan late in the half to be ahead at the break 0-5 to 0-1.
In the second half Glanworth made a few good attacks but they were unable to get on the scoresheet. Rovers full-back line of Chris O'Connell, Chris Buckley and team captain Chris Kenny held their lines very well. Conor Flanagan pointed a free early on. Good work by Eoin Baker and Hugh O'Neill led to a good interception by Chris O'Connell. Conor and Cian O'Sullivan had a point each for Clyda Rovers as the game moved into the final quarter.
Clyda struck for goals by Michael Linehan and Sean O'Connell and so held out for a deserved win. After the game Daithi Pierce Board Chairman presented the cup to the winning captain Chris Kenny, Rovers will now meet Macroom in the County MAFL quarter final this week end.0
