Lights shine brightest for 'Town as Kilworth fail to live with visitors

MITCHELSTOWN maintained their very good form in the Cavanagh's Fermoy Division 1 FL, when they had an 11 point win over Kilworth under lights at Kilworth on Saturday evening.
Twelve of the winners players figured on the scoresheet which showed their dominance. A goal from a penalty by Michael Maher helped to maintain an interval lead of 17 to 0-3.
On the resumption Mitchelstown continued to use short passing to great effect at speed out of defence, they had their second goal by Eoin Burke, which opened up a 2-9 to 0-5 lead. Kilworth relied on the accuracy of Elton Pierce from frees and play. They were unable to close the gap and it was late points by Darren Nugent, Ross Corbett and Pat Molloy that left 11 points between the sides at the final whistle.
