Macroom 1-11 Ballinora 1-9 MACROOM the Creedon spirited semi-final Cup display qualified with of the against a Tom very for Ballinora pitch at Ballinora in a very last heavy Sunday.

Macroom started this game minus eight of their starting championship team of 2011 due to involvement with Cork, players away and injuries but in fairness to the starting fifteen which included four minors they gave it their all especially in the second half. Macroom the scoring with a point from Eoin O'Mahony, this was followed with a free from Patrick Lucey.

Ballinora's first score came from a free and this was followed with another pointed free to leave the side level after fifteen minutes.

Macroom added two more points from Olan Murphy in the 18 minute and Patrick Lucey in the 27th minute before Ballinora added two points in last five minutes to leave the scores level at half time with 4 points each.

Macroom started the second in fine fashion and four points from Lucey and one from Andrew Hegarty gave them a five point lead entering the last quarter. Ballinora added two more points before Macroom stretched their lead with two more points from Lucey and a well taken from John Ryan to give them a eight point lead. In the closing stages Ballinora added two more points and after a mix up in the Macroom defence had a goal just at the final whis-tle Macroom have now qualified to meet Mallow in the semi-final.
