Millstreet goal earns late reprieve

Castlemagner 0-9 Millstreet 1-6 MILLSTREET conjured a late equalising goal from Finbarr Corcoran to share the spoils with Castlemagner in the opening tie to the Ducon Cup played in Millstreet last Friday.
In the circumstances, a draw emerged emerged just about the correct result to a close and competitive
contest. Milstreet started and finished on a positive note but in between, Castlemagner were well organised to dominate matters and appeared good enough to succeed before conceding the late equalising goal.
At the outlet, Millstreet began promisingly through the guiding fortunes of Cormac Sheehan, John Lehane and Mark Ellis. Points to Corcoran and Michael Murphy allowed the hosts set out their stall.
Castlemagner soon got into the swing of the game and proceeded to dominate the key exchanges. And a good supply of ball into attack gathered poiints for Tadgh Collins, Bryan Barry and Kieran O'mahony for Castlemagner lead 0-5 to 0-3 at the short whistle.
Though Millstreet offered a response upon the restart, Castle' possessed a positive step through the solid workrate of Alan Morrissey, Alan Lucey, Seán Falvey, O'MAhony and Conor Murphy.
Points to Barry and O'mahony appeared good enough for Castlemagner to succeed. However, Millstreet kept plugging and gained a reward for their peristance on Corcoran winning possession to fire a rasper to the net for the equaliser.
