330 vie for president's prize

Winners in the Presidents' Prize Day competition held at Charleville Golf Course on last Sunday.
A TOTAL of 330 golfers teed off in the 2010 Presidents' (Mike Laffan) Prize Competition at Charleville Golf Club last weekend. The event was played over Friday, Saturday and Sunday in glorious weather and over a magnificently prepared course.
It was an all Limerick one, two three at the top of the score board when Nicholas Cooke (20) from Hospital, Co. Limerick emerged the winner of the competition with a score of 40 points with fellow Limerick man Mike Potter, Bruree (15) in second place with 45 points and John P. Collins (14) from Dromcollogher was home in third place with a score of 44 points.
In the Presidents' Prize to the ladies the current Lady Captain Ms Ema O'Shea (18) won the competition with Mary Liston (16) also returning a similar score to come second and Eithne Hehir (11) was third with 38 points. Ber Clarson (9) had the best gross with 38 points.
