Golf society to hold AGM

Thursday February 02 2012

DROMTARRIFFE GOLF SOCIETY AGM: Dromtariffe Golf Society will hold its 10th annual general meeting in the Fairfield Room Dromagh Community Hall on Friday night February 10 at 8.30pm sharp.

This Society has surpassed all expectations since its humble begining 10 years ago with about six members at that first meeting to where it is today with well in excess of 50 members.

This is entirely down to the hard work, good organisation and people management of the committee. Secretary Sean Feely have been there since day one, Maurice Angland was the first Captain and ever since we have been blessed with the quality of Captain chosen to lead this Society.

The incoming Captain Denis (Pops) Murphy have given a huge amount of time, done trojan work, and is immensely popular within the Society.

Pops took over the role of Captaincy on December 29 last after the prizegiving of the very popular Presidents outing in Killarney and in his acceptance speech he outlined a few of the things he would like put into practice for the 2012 season, but noted the AGM was the place to do that and apealed to all the members to attend and there was up to 50 there that day so all in all there should be a very big turn out. Please attend. AFTERNOON OF PRAYER: Afternoon of prayer including Family Tree Mass with Fr. Denis O'sullivan SMA at Banteer Community Centre on Sunday, February 12 commencing at 2.30pm.
