For Bill, owned by popular Killarney sportsman Donie Sheehan, won her seventh race in a row, and remains unbeaten, at Clonmel races on Thursday last . The outstanding 7-year old commenced her racing career in the point-to-point field, where she won at Aghabulloge and Knockanard, last season. She then followed up by winning an unpresidented three bumper races, and has now made the successful transition to hurdles with two impressive wins.

On Thursday she proved beyond doubt what a great mare she is as this was the first time she raced over the minimum two-mile trip.

She was ridden for the first time on Thursday by Paul Townend, who oozed confidence on her.

Leading on the downhill stretch into the straight, a prostigeous leap at the second last saw her clear, where she stamped her authority on the punishing uphill run to the finish, where she won easily by three lengths from the late challenge, of Killultagh Thunder.

The well supported 6/4 to 5/4 favourite, was bred by Tom Lacey from Edenderry, and is from the same family as For William, which won 9 races for Sheehan in a splendid racing career. S

She is trained by Mick Winters at Kanturk, who made the long trip from Kanturk to Banna Strand Ardfert, on the previous Monday evening, to provide his stable star, with the final finishing touches, before her latest Clonmel success.

She may next contest a mares Graded hurdle at Limerick next month, if she is fully recovered, or alternatively, contest the Tattersalls mares final at Fairyhouse.
