Limerick double for Charleville's James Carroll
CHARLEVILLE amateur James Carroll continued his winning form at Limerick where he was seen at his best on Lastofthepilots, for Killeagh trainer Paul Fitzgerald in the concluding bumper.
Produced with impeccable timing two out, he strongly withstood all challenges, winning by half a length in a thrilling finish with Kerrieonvic, providing him with his 33rd track win, in addition to almost 130 point-to-point winners.
Twenty-four hours later he went to the Christmas meeting at Leopardstown, where he teamed up with Kilkenny trainer Margaret Mullins to land the bumper with Munbo Jumbo.
Well placed from the outset, he made progress before the straight and hit the front shortly afterwards, staying on well under a powerful drive from the saddle to win by a length and a half from Maller Tree.
