Nottingham win for Lane
Thursday August 19 2010
JOCKEY Martin Lane, from Kilworth, scored his 21st win of the season at Nottingham races on Friday on Albeeb for trainer John Dunlop in the 1ml 6f handicap. Strongly ridden, he was driven to challenge over a furlong out, and stayed on well to win by less than a length.
Lane currently lies second in the apprentice title race, which is currently led by James Sullivan, who is 11/10 favourite with William Hill, with Lane a 4/1 chance, along with Ian Brennan. Lane could well be the value bet at this stage, with 10 weeks to go to the end of the current season.
