Wexford win for Mallow jockey Eddie Lenihan
GLANTANE Mallow apprentice jockey Eddie Lenihan continues to impress, and was seen at his most confident best on Phantasy Rock which was a snug winner of the Derrinstown apprentice handicap over 1ml 3f at Wexford races last Friday.
Eddie, who was gaining his sixth career success, tracked the leaders traveling well, and produced his mount with supreme confidence, to hit the front over a furlong from home, and had only to be pushed out, to win a shade cosily by less than a length, from the fast finishing Green to Gold.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins was fulsome in his praise of his young protege remarking: "Eddie is an excellent rider, is quietly making a good name for himself, and is well worth his claim, which is a big help to me."
