THE 2010 EPS Bison Junior A Hurling Championship Final between Meelin and Kilbrin is confirmed for Tullylease on Sunday, September 12.
On parade will be the two most consistent sides in this season's campaign and performances to date in the campaign suggests a thrilling hour's hurling is on offer. Meanwhile, Junior B fare dominates the weekend action with a number of stand out ties going ahead. One is the meeting of newcomers St. John's and Cullen in the JBFC at Millstreet on Saturday.
Cullen parade a second string and the utilisation of a large number of players to the A grade over three games mean they will have to dig deep. However, experience and youth are in supply as confirmed on a junior B league title from last season.
Debutants St John's take the field in their first championship game since the club was formed earlier in the season. A solid league campaign offered encouragement as did progress in the county qualifier only to come up short in the divisional final to eventual champions Kilbrin.
St Johns are sure to carry plenty of enthusiasm to what offers an interesting encounter.
Ballydesmond and Kanturk will pay close attentions in their duel in Ballydesmond on Saturday. Kanturk second string will be keen to put forward cases for involvement in the closing stages to the JAFC.
For Ballydesmond, a good run here would act as encouragement, ahead of a county Intermediate football championship relegation decider against Courcey Rovers.
Defending champions Freemount come against Glenlara in Rockchapel on Saturday to what promises to be a close affair. Glenlara carved out some creditable results in the league yet Freemount free of hurling involvement are well equipped to mount a big impression in their quest for back to back titles.
A semi final in the minor B Football Championship sees Croke Rovers come up against Kanturk in Newmarket on Friday evening. Kanturk secured a merited win over Dromtariffe last time out yet Crokes are capable of providing a stiff test.
The victor advances into the decider against Pobail Uí Chaoimh.
