BabyMAC on board for Monster triathlon

By John Tarrant

Thursday January 19 2012

THE great human challenge tackling Mushera and Millstreet Country Park that initiated in 2011 is to return next April with the Monstermac staging.

Bright sunshine added to the inaugural occasion as 170 multi purpose athletes combined stamina and resilience to convene on a splendid setting. And for all concerned, the staging emerged as an organisational triumph as solo competitors competed in the intense schedule to conquer mountain running, road biking and kayaking.

To meet the growing interest in outdoor, adventure and triathlon sports, Ireland's shortest adventure race is confirmed as a new addition to this year's schedule. BABYMAC is part of the popular MonsterMAC Adventure Challenge, offering an ideal distance for a beginner fitness enthusiast with a 3.5km run, 16km cycle and 400m kayak around a crannog lake.

The triathlon concept is growing in popularity and the Millstreet staging is sure to meet a large number of participants that are expected to compete in the intense schedule for solo competitors. A hectic schedule offers a fantastic experience to a professionally organised adventure challenge event scheduled for Saturday, April 28.
