Ballyclough to take on Kilcorney in North Cork Darts final

THE final of the north Cork county darts league will take place in the Seven Elms Bar, Kilbrin this coming Friday night ay 8.30pm.
This year's showdown will see Fitzgerald's Bar from Ballyclough take on The Outback in Kilcorney. Both teams fully deserve their place in the final having emerged from tough groups to qualify for the decider. The increasing popularity of the sport in north Cork has seen the number of teams competing increasing over the years, with 10 teams involved in this year's league.
This year for the first time the teams were divided into two groups, with the sides Ballyclough, Kilcorney, Dromahan, Cullen and Ballydesmond in one group. The second group was comprised of reigning champions Kilbrin Social Club, Nadd Pub (the beaten finalists from 2009, The Sandpit from Dromogh, Banteer Pub and The Seven Elms.
Ties were played on a home and away basis, with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the semi-finals.
Ballyclough topped group one which gave them home advantage over Seven Elms who finished group two runners-up.
The other semi was saw group two winners Nadd Pub against The Outback.
Both semi-finals were fiercely contested setting up Friday's mouth-watering clash between the teams from Ballyclough and Kilcorney. This is sure to be a mammoth battle between two fine teams with the winners claiming the prestigious Heineken Inter-Pub Perpetual trophy.
