SENIOR Premier Division leaders, by a mile, Rockmount travelled the few miles to Ballincollig at the weekend but travelled down in class by a far greater distance. When they returned they had another three points gained at the top of the league while the bottom side still had points and now had an 8-0 thrashing into the bargain.
It's becoming a long season for Ballincollig but the Whitechurch side are just basking in it.
Elsewhere, Blarney again stumbled, this time going down 1-0 away to Ringmahon Rangers, another bottom end of the table side.
Meanwhile, Avondale Utd snapped up three more precious points, winning 2-0 away to St Mary's while the resurgent Douglas Hall took the students 1-0 and Mayfield shared the points with Everton.
In Senior Division One, Mallow inched further away from the bottom with a surprising 4-1 win away to Passage. Having shared the spoils with Fermoy last week Mallow finally seem to be on a much needed point-scoring run.
It was the opposite, however, for Fermoy who, despite scoring three, lost out by a goal at home to wandering Cobh. Castleview beat Midleton 2-0 while Tramor Ath and Leeds also notched up three-pointers.
In the Junior Premier Division Rockmount drew with College Corinthians A side 1-1 and then went on to beat Carrigaline Utd 2-1. Meanwhile, Blarney Utd went down to Douglas Hall 1-0 while UCC were 4-1 winners over Mayfield and Ringmahon Rgs had a 2-1 win over Avondale Utd.
Mallow's 4-1 result in the senior division was reversed in Junior Division One as they went down to Cobh and Wanderers saw them off comfortably.
Meanwhile, at home Fermoy saw off Everton 40 after a good day's work.
Glasheen and Brooklodge both hits six, Glasheen beating Crosshaven 6-2 while UCC Academicals got one back against Brooklodge.
Elsewhere, St Mary's and Crofton shared the points while Ringmahon were 41 winners over College Corinthians B.
The leagues will be largely in abeyance this weekend with Beamish Senior and Junior Cups first round action taking over as well as Lucozade and Keane Cup games.
